My Neville ancestors

The House of Neville is a noble house of early medieval origin, which was a leading force in English politics in the later Middle Ages. The family became one of the two major powers in northern England along with the House of Percy and played a central role in the Wars of the Roses.

01. Geoffrey De Neville [1] was born abt. 1197.  He married Joan and died in 1242.

02. Robert De Neville
[1] son of Geoffrey and Joan was born abt. 1223.  He died on August 20, 1282.

03. Robert De Neville
[1] son of Robert and his unidentified first wife was born abt. 1237.  He married
Mary Fitz Ralph. He died in 1271.

04. Randolph De Neville
[1] (AKA Ralph), 1st Baron Neville de Raby and son of Robert and Mary was born on October 18, 1262. He married (1)
Euphemia De Clavering, daughter of Robert De Clavering and Margaret La Zouche.  He married (2) Margery De Thwenge.  He died on April 18, 1331.

05. Ralph De Neville
[1] 2nd Baron Neville de Raby and son of Randolph and Euphemia was born abt 1291. He married Alice De Audley.  Neville led the English forces to victory against the Scottish king David II of Scotland at the Battle of Neville's Cross on October 17, 1346. He died on August 5, 1367. 

06. John De Neville
[1] 3rd Baron Neville de Raby and son of Ralph and Alice was born abt 1330. He married Maud De Percy, daughter of Henry De Percy and Idoine De Clifford.  Neville's public career was as active as his father's had been. He fought against the Scots at the Battle of Neville's Cross on October 17, 1346 as a captain under his father, was knighted about 1360 after a skirmish near Paris while serving under Sir Walter Manny, and fought in Aquitaine in 1366, and again in 1373-4. At his father's death on August 5th, 1367 he succeeded to the title, and had livery of his lands in England and Scotland in October of that year.  John died on October 17, 1388. 

07. Thomas De Neville [1] son of John and Maude was born abt 1365. He married Joan Furnivall, daughter of William Furnivall. 
He died on March 24, 1406.

08. Maud De Neville
[1] daughter of Thomas and Joan was born in 1392 in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, England. She married John Talbot, son of Richard Talbot and Ankaret Le Strange before March 12, 1406.  Maud died in 1423.  I descend from their son John Talbot who married Elizabeth Butler.
