My Evarts ancestors

GENERATION 1
"01. William Evarts, according to "History of the Adams & Evarts Families" by J. M. Adams (1894) p. 23 was born at Tortworth, Gloucestershire, England, 1569-70.  He married Sarah Everhard,1593, who inherited an interest in the Everhard estate of Hertfordshire. The Everhards were closely connected by marriage with the famous Hicks family who bore coats of arms and descended from Sir Ellis Hicks who was Knighted by Edward the Black Prince at the battle of Poictiers, Sept. 19, 1356.  It is also recorded that Sarah and William Evarts died at an advanced age in Hertfordshire.  [Children are listed as (1) John; born in Hertfordshire, 1601; (2) Sarah (3) Edward.] 
GENERATION 2
02. John Evarts, [1] according to "The New York Genealogical and Biogaphical Record" vol 47, p. 313 was born in 1601 in Hertfordshire, England.   He married (1) Elizabeth (unknown parentage) and (2) Elizabeth Bradley-Parmlee on May 27, 1663, widow of John Parmelee who died in November, 1688.  In about 1650 he removed to Guilford, CT where he was an admitted planter.  He was made a freeman there on Feb 5, 1652. John died on May 10, 1669 in Guilford, New Haven, CT.  5 children listed by 1st marriage (James, John, Judah, Daniel, Elizabeth).

   Married Peter Abbot in 1665 in Concord, MA 
   Note: Elizabeth was murdered by her husband who was executed for the crime.
       "Evidence of insanity did not stop the October 16, 1667, execution of Peter Abbott of Fairfield. 
        He confessed to having slit the throat of his wife Elizabeth and child as they slept.  Elizabeth died; the child survived. 
        The documents are scant, but record that he had been "taken... with a luncy."

GENERATION 3
03. James Evarts, [1] son of John and Elizabeth was born on July 19, 1638 in Concord, Middlesex, MA.  He married Lydia Goodrich on January 14, 1660 in Guilford, New Haven, CT.  "The New England Historical and Genealogical Register" vol. LXI (1907); p. 25 confirms "James Evarts married, in 1660, Lydia, daughter of "Richard Guttridge."  James died in April, 1682 in Guilford.

04. John Evarts, [1] son of James and Lydia was born abt 1664 in Guilford, New Haven, CT.  According to "The New England Historical and Genealogical Register" vol. LXI (1907); p. 29 He married Sarah Crampton on October 23, 1688 in Guilford.  Sarah is the daughter of Dennis Crampton and Sarah Hall.  He was sergeant of the trainband at Guilford.
