abt. 1636 in Guilford, New Haven, CT. He married (1) Mary Parmalee on Sep 6, 1660 in
Guilford, daughter of John Parmalee. Dennis married (2) Sarah Hall abt. Jan 1, 1669 in Guilford, widow of Nicholas
Munger. He died on Jan 31, 1690 in Guilford,
New Haven, CT.
"Very little is known about the early years of Dennis Crampton's life. His birthplace is presumed to be England as it was the birthplace of so many others in Guilford. He probably immigrated when he was young and was an “indentured servant" as he took the Freemen's Oath later in life.
In his younger days, he seemed to be in trouble with the law from time to time. He was arrested and whipped for slander and horse stealing.
However, he eventually became a prosperous plantation owner."
