01. Robert Page [1] of Acle, co. Norfolk, husbandman, born before 1550, died between 20 Apr. and 15 May 1587.  He married Martha who was living 20 Apr 1587 at the date of her husband's will as were the following children:

GENERATION #2

02. Robert Page [1] of Acle and Ormsby St. Margaret, co-Norfolk,  husbandman was born as early as 1577.  He died in Orms. by between 1 and 23 July 1617, and was probably buried in the churchyard of Ormsby St. Margaret.  "Roberte Page & Margrett Goodwynge" [Goodwin]  were married in the parish of Hemblington, 16 July 1598 [Norfolk Parish Register Marriages, vol 1 p. 22].   As Hemblington is only four miles from Acle, and as this Page was the only person of the name there married, he is probably the Robert Page of Acle.  Margaret Goodwin was perhaps the daughter of Francis Goodwin of Hemblington in 1585.

The children of Robert and Margaret are:

1 Robert Page (See Below)
2 Thomas Page ( - ) Probably not the Thomas Page, a "gentleman," who was at Saco in the Provence of Maine from 1637-1641.
3 Rebecca Page (bapt. May 16, 1608 in Ormsby St. Michael - ) Married a Rex and was living 5 Apr 1667, probably in the vicinity of Ormsby.
4 Henry Page  ( - ) Living Jul 1, 1617
5 Francis Page (bef Jul 1, 1617 - 1666/7) ; husbandman; died in Ormsby St. Margaret betw 4 Feb. 1666 and 5 Apr 1667, probably leaving no descendants.
GENERATION #3

03. Robert Page [1] born abt. 1604, who wad to enherit the Page homestead in Acle after his mother's death, emigrated to New England in 1637.  He married abt. 1628 Lucy Ward, who died at Hampton 12 Nov. 1665 age 58 years; and he died there 26 Sep. 1679, age 75 years.   The family lived at Salem, Mass., from 1637 to 1639, after which year they lived at Hampton.

The following biography of Robert Page is from "The New England Ancestry of Dana Converse Backus" by Mary E. N. Backus (1949) :

" ROBERT PAGE (probably the son of Robert and Margaret (Goodwin) Page of Ormesby St. Margaret, Norfolk County, England) arrived at Boston, Mass. in June 1637 on the ship Rose or the ship John and Dorothy. On the registry of persons who desired to pass into foreign parts, dated the 11th of April 1637, his age is given as 33. With him were his wife Lucy, aged 30, his three children, Margaret, Francis and Susanna, and two servants, William Moulton, aged 20, and Ann Wadd, aged 15. There is some evidence that the name Wadd is a misreading of Nudd, and that Ann was his wife's sister and later the wife of Edward Colcord, the rebel.  The Pages were first at Salem but were in Hampton by the second summer. Hampton (New Hampshire) was then, and until 1679/80, a part of Massachusetts. Robert became a freeman of the Massachusetts Bay Colony May 18, 1642, was a selectman of the town eight times in the period 1644-1671, built a sawmill at Taylor's River in 1656, and was a representative to the General Court in 1657 and 1668. He was a marshall of the county of Norfolk, and deacon in the church 1660 until his death. His wife Lucy died November 12, 1665, aged fifty-eight, and he died September 22, 1679, aged seventy-five.  His will was dated September 9, 1679 and named sons Francis and Thomas, daughters Mary Fogg, Margaret Samborne, Rebecca Marston, Hannah Dow, and many grandchildren. These included the children of his daughter Margaret and her first husband, William Moulton:--Joseph, Benjamin, Robert, Hannah, Sarah "now Sarah Haines," Ruth and William. The list of Moulton children is the same as in their father's will, fifteen years before, with the exception of Mary, who died July 27, 1664, shortly after her father died, and with the addition of William, who had been born after his father's death. "

The children of Robert and Lucy are:

1 Margaret Page (See Below)
2 Francis Page (Abt. 1633 - Nov 15, 1706 in Hampton
3 Susanna Page (Abt. 1635 - )

5 Thomas Page (Bapt. Sep 1, 1639 - Sep 8, 1686)
