In 1631/2 he immigrated on the ship "Lyon" to the Massachusetts Bay Colony and resided in Ipswich by 1635. His will is dated June 9, 1655 at Stratford, Fairfield, CT. (Source 1; p 470) Edward died on June 19, 1655 in Stratford, Fairfield, CT. Mary died in 1639 in Ipswich, MA. "An example of English
descent is Edward Ketcham (Chetham as it was spelled in England on the
records of his first marriage to Mary Hall and the birth of his first
children). There are no known records of his parents, nor any siblings.
Edward is not found on any passenger list, but he came to America during the
Great Puritan Migration. He can be found with his family in Ipswich, Mass,
in the 1630s. It is assumed Edward was born in about 1590, though no record
of his birth has been located." Source:

not proven at this time but is based on other evidence stated below. |

07. Isabel Ketchum, [1] presumed daughter of Samuel and Deborah was born October 9, 1769 in Lansingburgh, New York. She married Asa Turner on February 14, 1788. According to researcher Rupert Charles Loucks, Isabel was almost certainly a younger sister of Sarah Ketchum, wife of Asa Turner's brother Thomas. Sarah was the daughter of Samuel and Deborah Ketchum, who, as of 1790 census time were also Lansingburgh residents. Sarah is also noted as wife of Thomas Turner in "Turner Family in America." Note that "Settlers of Beekman Patent" does not mention Isabel as a daughter of Samuel. Isabel died on March 23, 1842 in Stockton, Chautaugua, New York. See the Turner surname page for their children. I descend from their daughter Pamelia Turner who married Miles Jones. |
