a.k.a. "Mandel" or
"Emmanuel", son of Samuel and Yetta was born abt. 1837 in Austria. He married
Bella Kohn aka "Beila Kohess"
or "Beila." Bella was born in January
1838 in Austria according to the 1900 census. Mendel was a peddler.
Hamburg passenger lists indicated they were from Wojkow, Austria. They immigrated
on July 13, 1890 on the ship "Rugia" departing from Hamburg,
Germany. Mendel
died on May 3, 1893 in Manhattan. After his death Bella is shown as head of
household in 1900 living with her grandchildren Charles and Yetta Schnall.
