My Williams ancestors

01. Johannes Willems was born in the Palatinate region of Germany in 1688. In September of 1736, at the age of 48, he and his wife, Anna Margaretha Wilmsin, age 36 arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Harle. His was the only German family that arrived in Philadelphia during this period with that name (Willems), and was one of the very few that was able to sign and spell his name on the loyalty and the abjuration papers upon arrival. They brought with them their son, Thomas, born ca 1724 in Germany, and since he was under 14 years of age, was not listed by name on the passenger list. Johannes died after 1736, likely in Northampton County, PA.
02. Thomas Willems, son of Johannes and Anna was born about 1724 in Germany. Records from the Jordan Lutheran Church in Northampton County, show that on the 27th of December 1748, Thomas Willems and wife Naema, baptised their son Daniel, born 23 December 1748. Thomas and Naema had seven children.
03. Sarah Catherine Williams, daughter of Thomas and Naema was born in 1743 in Northampton, PA. She married Conrad Haag, son of Hans Jerg Hag and Catherina. I descend from their son Michael Hawk who married Delilah Minnie Clevenger.
