| Miles Jones, born at Otis, Mass Nov.6, 1794 (Per Otis Vital
Records.) died in Illinois in 1879 (according to a son obituary) he married probably in
Mass. (no record could be found, Librarian at Otis, stated wife was a spinster) so must
married at Otis, Mass. to Pamelia K. (Mary) Turner, son obit says in Canada, where she
died in 1881. They moved from New York to Illinois in 1859. From a Historian in Chautaqua Co. NY states Miles Jones recorded property in 1822, another record states Sheridan in Chautauqua Co. Land transactions, recorded at Mayville, N.Y. are as follows: Book 4 pg.287 Miles Jones bought land of William Bemis Lot 39m Twp. 2 range 12 (this is Bemis Point at Ellery.) Book 5 pg.271 in 1825 Miles sold to Wm. Bemis,Lot 39, Twp.2 range 12. Book 8 pg.313, in 1830 he sold land, with Pamelia K. Jones, to William Young Lot 40 Twp.2 range 12.
