From a letter that was written up after Lou's death:

"Died on Nov 26, 1912 at San Diego CA in a runaway accident. Lou Marshall, aged 26 years. Deceased was the son of Mrs. W.F. Marshall of Eugene, Oregon. He was born in Wellington, Kansas, and came with his parents to Oregon in 1899. He attended the public school of this city. Besides his mother he leaves two sisters and five brothers. His father having died in the year of 1909. Internment will be made at the Laurel Hill cemetery."

A footnote says George Lewis Marshall was born in Wellington, Summer County, Kansas.   A letter was written to Louis 2 months before he died by his brother Sherman and sister Anna telling him to come home.
