My Horner ancestors

01. Anthony Horner was born on November 17, 1573 in Thirsk, York, England.  His wife's name is unknown.  Anthony died in 1632 in Tadcaster, West Riding, York, England.  "Traditionally thought to be the source of this line according to "This old Monmouth of Ours" by William S Horner (1932)"   Source

02. John Horner, son of Anthony was Born abt 1608 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England.  He married Isabel Nichols, daughter of Thomas Nichols and Jane Beckwith on June 10, 1635 in Kirkgate, England.  John died on April 29, 1671.

03. John Horner, son of John and Isabel was born in Tadcaster, Yorkshire, England about 1630 and died "suddenly" at White Hill, West Jersey, Feb. 25, 1689. He was a man of substance and a Friend, who left his native land on account of persecutions of his fellow Christians. He reached Burlington, New Jersey in the ship, New Providence, Nov. 1, 1683 accompanied by his third wife and four children with ten servants. In 1684 he purchased from William Black the White Hill property of 200 acres on the Delaware, just south of the Farnsworth estate, where King Joseph Bonaparte afterwards made his home. The Hornor homestead is now the site of a State Industrial School.  John was three times married. His first wife, Isobel, died Jan. 2, 1667. He married secondly March 24, 1668, Sarah, daughter of Edward Wilberforce. She died Sept. 22, 1673, leaving two children, John and Mary. John married third Nov. 13, 1675 Mary Pearson, of Tiffenthwaite, Cumberland Co., England, said to be a descendant of the Percys (Earls of Northumberland). 04. Joshua Horner, son of John and Mary was born at Tadcaster, Yorkshire, England, Sept. 14, 1676 and died in Springfield Township, Burlington Co., New Jersey in 1721 on an estate of 750 acres that he had purchased there. 05. Deliverance Horner, daughter of Joshua and Mary was born on January 1, 1721 in Springfield Twp., Burlington Co. NJ.  She married George Clevenger, son of John Clevenger and Mary on July 19, 1737.  She died abt. 1800.  I descend from their son Aden Clevenger.
